No Escape
Here is a new comic coming to you from outer space! Also, apparently I didn’t already have a ‘space‘ tag, so I added it just now. Click on it for more weightless comics.
Edit March 3rd: You can now purchase a print of this comic over at Society6!
Jehovah’s witnesses wouldn’t have a cross on anything they have. But it’s still hilarious!
There is no cross….
Heh, great comic. FYI you have a typo in the last tag (“withouth” instead of “without”).
Oops, fixed. Thanks!
You know that’s exactly what will happen in the future. :D
Perhaps it’s already happened Bill???
I wish they’d export all door-knockers like that, but without he expensive space suits.
HAHA
Very funny, but you should remove the cross, it has nothing to do with them.
Beautifully done and very funny. :D
“Would you at least take a watchtower sir!”
Saw this gag on the Spitting Image t.v. show…. not sure which year but it’s got to be at least twenty years old.
Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t use the cross.
JW’s are loving this cartoon, but as others have already pointed, we would never carry a bible with a cross on it.
Actually I didn’t know that. I guess I could change it to “The Bible” or another The Watchtower magazine, although that’s not as instantly recognizable.
haha, very nice
I like that the guy inside the ISS is dressed up so casual :))))
Love it! (I did take the liberty of replacing the cross with the text “The Bible” before sending it to my fellow JW friends.)
That’s fine! I hope you used a suitable font. (I suggest Comic Sans.)
Hahahaha!
Could someone send me the edited and corrected version of this, its soo good, I want to put it on my fridge. LOL
deej
Corrected version is now up! Refresh and you should see it.
As a JW the friends at the local congregation thought this was funny. Thx. Seattle WA.
Thanks, that’s super cool to hear!
Whether they use the cross or not; I don’t think everyone out there knows what the Watchtower is. I for instance did not know it was strictly connected to JW. Without the cross, I don’t think the point would come across for many readers.
In my mind, it seems reasonable that JW and a Christian misonary would team up for such a trip to spare expenses. It’s not like it’s a normal door knocking trip.
In other words; space them!
I can understand tmork’s misunderstanding as it is a common one. But I am very grateful for the correction as it’s respectful to a people that works hard to be very respectful to others. Ty Kristian for the update.
You’re welcome! I should’ve done better research in the first place.
what cross?
The comic originally had a cross on the bible, it was later removed and replaced by the text.
I am a JW and I have carried a King James version with me going door to door. But it’s better without the cross.
I’m a Jehovah’s Witness,
we really like the cartoon very, very funny = D
you can do more of them, no offense, of course!
Congratulations on the site

I am also one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and I think this is the funniest thing. This is a great comic strip. We really do try to reach people anywhere we can find them because that’s what Jesus taught us to do. How long ago did this comic first come out? I hope you don’t mind but I put it on my Face Book page. If you do mind, let me know and I’ll remove it. I am still laughing. LOL Thanks so much. Sylvia from USA
Hey Sylvia, thanks for your comment! Of course I don’t mind you putting the comic on Facebook – feel free to share it with everyone you know. :) Oh, and it was first posted on January 7th. I’m super glad you liked it! – Kristian
Hi Kristian,
Thanks for your response. For some reason or other I was under the impression this comic was from many years ago. No? And was it posted in a Norwegian newspaper? Is this true? I best get my facts straight before I post it. Well, I already did and I mentioned a norwegian newspaper. Was I correct? haha
Ah, the comic was made this year, but the idea is most likely not entirely original – so there has quite possibly been a similar take on this joke before. I couldn’t find a comic strip about this on Google, though so I went ahead and made my version. Oh and my comics have occasionally been in print in some Norwegian newspapers, but this particular strip has not. Well, not yet anyway. :)
Then I will remove from FB what I said about it being “in a norwegian paper years ago”:)
This is going viral among JWs these days. Good job on replacing the cross. We want to be the most known for teaching people about the Bible, but the watchtower is our most know magazine and tool to help people do that. so you can’t mistake it for being any other than Jehovah’s witnesses when it’s a watchtower. Our other magazine is Awake! Good you did it in English so that so many can enjoy it. If you tag it with watchtower or JWs I’m sure you’ll get even more hits.
Thanks for a funny and respectful cartoon.
It sure is going viral! I loved it! I’ve got some other JW cartoons about our preaching work stored in my computer. It’s what we’re best known for, you know! I don’t believe in insulting any religion, but I do enjoy a good, clean and tasteful joke about them. This one’s a riot!
Another JW chiming in with thanks for a funny cartoon that is still respectful of us, and especially for taking the time to remove the cross. Sharing with my FB friends, at least 98% of whom are also JWs.
I love this funny cartoon.
It reached the Netherlands!
Hi Kristian. I found your site from the URL on this comic that a friend emailed me. I too am one of Jehovah”s Witnesses & I think it’s hilarious. We’ll find you, no matter where you are, we’ll find you!!! Ha Ha Ha!!! Great strip Kristian
Great funny cartoon!
I received this picture in my email and shared in my facebook. Good work. Humor without aggression :)
Hi there,
I’m a JW also, in Portugal. I liked it very mutch.
;-)
Dude, very good.
The comic is intelligent, respectful and funny.
This is true, no escape.
And the next time they knock on your door, offer more oxygen.
JW, Brazil.
Pozdrowienia od J.W z Polski…
Komiks jest zabawny..
Tu w Polsce też się podoba
…………….
Greetings from J.W of Polish …
comic is very funny ..
Here in Poland we also like this comic :)
Reading the comments seems to me you’re a very nice guy. Jw from Brazil, hehe. I like the way you made a gag at same time that you did it with respect, this attitude induces everybody to respect you and laugh with you too. I think all of us need to have this kind of attitude for any other religion and different points of view – any kind, even we disagree. ^.^, congratulations.
I am also one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and I would like to share this comic with my friends on Facebook, is that alright? Let me know if it isn’t and I’ll remove it…Lol hehehehehe
