Oh yeah, I thought about it briefly. I guess I could’ve used some symbols in place of â€thoughts”and â€prayersâ€, but it would perhaps be an unnecessary element to decipher so I decided against it in the end. Hmm, I’d have to ponder it a bit more to figure out how I’d do it.
I understand what you were trying to say,(cartoon is executed beautifully), but I just wanted to say that most of the people who do offer their thoughts and prayers wouldn’t think twice to jump in and help. The others, though, they’re the same people who drop you a birthday greeting on Facebook, instead of spending a buck and actually sending a card. Cheap bast@rds…I think I got off topic…
Nearly as bad as offering “thoughts and prayers” is the derailing of the conversation into a debate over gun control. How about we talk about why someone hated gays so much that he slaughtered 50 of them?
Bar none, the most powerful and focused unveiling of heartless polical pandering of using that expression as a blanket excuse for not caring about the “wrong” people’s suffering.
I’d experience the cartoon panel in an awful way. When I was taking care of my wife’s battle with pancreatic cancer. Some of her relatives did little to help. They were devote Christian fundamentalist. But they did tell me they were praying for me. Rather wish they made me sandwich every now and then. Sigh
I wonder whether you can bring that same message into your usual, and awesome pantomime style?

John Scalzi takes it to greater length.
