Collision Course
Surely everyone over a certain age has grown up playing with one of these things. I guess the younger kids among you are probably only familiar with the PlayStation version, though… However, a quick Google search shows that Slot Car kits are indeed still being made. Hmm, I now know what I want for Christmas…
Turns out there is a cross-over curve piece – check out the website I’ve linked to.
I see the intersection of narrative schemes, but I don’t see the joke.
The voters on isitfunnytoday.com mostly seem to agree as well. Sorry… I think most of your comics are great, but I don’t think this one is.
Ah well, I guess I found some humor in the juxtaposition of the drivers’ fate and the kids’ reaction. But maybe not. Oh well!
@Kristian: I think this is totally funny to those who have played with one of those and recognize the nail biting excitement of timing the cars to cross at just the same time.
used to love those things! my fave was the “super duper double looper”!
I was never any good at this myself… Neither are these kids I see. Poor bastards in the cars. What a cruel joke it is to even give them a steering wheel. They have no control! No control I tell ya!
My siblings and I loved playing this as kids!
I didn’t think about the intersection in a bend thing, but I did wonder about the electric track having a vertical loop. I thought those only existed for the wind-up cars.
Always great stuff!
