I know it’s one of the things that makes video games and comic books ridiculous, but I always kind of thought that they way they kind of made me feel like I could do anything was one of the things that made them both kind of awesome.
They must have been surprised they could not just pick each other up, or smash crates finding soda and such to heal themselves. The real world is a cruel bitch.
haha I noticed just that…but I’m with you kristian, still hoping to see a half life 3 someday before the end of the world in 2012. Keep up the great work!
For every Gordon Freeman type there’s a few hundred poor schmucks who tried to be a hero and ended with a bad case of headcrabs. Let this comic stand as tribute to all those who tried and failed. ^.^
Absolutely! And even though the new one currently in development is getting a lot of flak, I remain optimistic. The best things about the series, for me at least, was the atmosphere and the overlaying strategic elements, and not necessarily the turn-based combat. (Which, to be honest, did feel like a chore after a while.) As long as they nail the sense of discovery and suspense I’ll be happy!
No wonder they didn’t win, from the pictures you see that they don’t have any laser rifles or heavy plasmas.
ps. the small print in those newspapers is the best part of this comic :D
Hey, thanks. Didn’t read those at first.
So, as long as half life 3 isn´t released, we won´t have to resort to this.

Talk about dedication! Really fun strip, Kristian. You got a firm grip on that control!
Chuckles from reading the newspaper details: “However, we will have [an] official statement welcoming [our] new alien overlords.”
I guess the X-Com player was hoping that he would have time to plan in the middle of the battle and research those xeno-weapons later on!

The Gamer Squad reports that aliens are overtuned, OP, and had to be hacking or something after they got totally Pwned.
Half-Life 1-3? A Half-Life 3, in this century? Ha!
Ah yes, some wishful thinking on my part there. I’m hoping for a surprise reveal any time now. C’mon Valve, do it!

“It’s a cook book! IT’S A COOK BOOK!!”
Omg, X-COM was one of the best computer game series of all time.

Also no red barrels to be found nearby. Those things are handy in a pinch.
