Spider Shock
Here is a comic strip! Which appears even though my pesky day job ordered me out of town AGAIN this week. Hmm, if only there was a way to make money out of doing webcomics instead…

I was quite relived when I first learned the truth about these common myths. You don’t swallow bugs in your sleep, they also don’t go into your ear, you don’t need to wait after eating to go into the pool, etc… and also there are no giant sandworms trying to eat you in Earth’s deserts. That’s also a common one among 90s kids watching Tremors and playing Dune, right? Just me? Oh well…
There *are* bugs that goes into your ear: after all, it’s warm, safe and comfortable for them. Too bad some of them also try to pierce your eardrums trying to reach even further, but those usually live in Africa or so.
And you’d better stay off the sea after you eat, because you need your blood on your digestive system rather than keeping you warm.
Yes but the spider thing is a complete myth. I checked. And then I checked again.

For the first one:
For the second one: Well if that’s true it will cause you to feel the water colder, but not much else: http://www.snopes.com/oldwives/hourwait.asp
I guess the swimming myth originated in someone actually getting cramps. When I go swimming less than an hour after a meal, I get a nasty stomachache. None of my friends experienced so, thus I guess it’s a very individual matter.
You have the potential to do a living out of webcomics, never thought about it?
I used to swallow any spider I encountered at day in order to get ahead of the average so I wouldn’t swallow them at night, but nowadays I’ve grown to like the flavour and just swallow them because they taste good.
Haha this is utter bullcrap. How the hell did anyone get to measure this statistic? They watched closeups on the mouth of hundreds of people for every second of their sleep during several years? this is ludicrous.
