I wouldn’t put it past the memory wipe clinic to leave the original memory, but repeatedly wipe the bit where you paid them the money, so that they get you to repeatedly pay until your bank account is empty!

Well since it’s one of my favorite movies I can tell you: this is almost the plot of “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”
But I like the part here were Reddit takes over everything, and we live as walking mascots. :D
Re-reading this cartoon, I notice that what is said in the second panel comes off as very sarcastic, provided you haven’t read the subsequent panels.
It sounds like a snarky thing to say, but then you realize he was being serious.
