I don’t remember what the many idbehold codes did. I only remember that idbeholdv was temporary invulnerability because i5 protected you from a few things that iddqd didn’t. Most notably the end level pool, which as a kid I didn’t at first understand I was supposed to ALLOW to harm me.
IDBEHOLD + “another letter” would give you various items you could find inside the levels like the invulnerability sphere, light googles, full map, etch.
Well, on the French keyboard, it was iddad, but I see your point :-)
