Why are you placing auto-loading videos on this page? Do you have any idea what that does to bandwidth, to computers with only 4GB of RAM, the unwelcome and startling sound of a video when we were expecting to quietly read comics?
I try not to run blockers so as to not interfere with Ad Impressions, but if you force me to start running every blocking extension under the sun, ultimately I’ll just not be visiting the site if they don’t work.
I want the choice of watching your videos, just like the choice I made of reading your comic. If you have a recommendation for being able to stop that auto-loading, I’d appreciate it. Email it to me if necessary – rather than post it. There are many of us who do not go to YouTube or Facebook, EVER. At work the last thing we need is a flag because I decided to read your comic – and suddenly a video is being called up, embedded from Flickr or YouTube or some other annoyance that will have someone up the ladder bitching at me (and countless others too!).
It’s a bad decision… why can’t you leave it as a photo to activate if we want it, not something shoving 3 simultaneous 720p streams down our throats???
When exactly 4GB of RAM became “only 4GB of RAM”?
I thought it was still a decent amount.
Hey Ivan, I totally agree, autoplaying videos are horrible and I would never intentionally enable a feature like that. But, like Sam mentions, I’m not able to replicate this issue on any of my devices. Tested iOS, Mac and Windows with Chrome/IE/Safari. Which browser and OS are you running?
Ivan – where do you see autoloading videos? I don’t have this issue.
Not on this page — stay on the main comics page… and they will show a little lower on the page – as the last dates the artist posted. When you click comments, you’re on a different page vs. the main page.

@Ivan – Auto play videos is upto you. Learn to use your browser. Check your settings at youtube. RTFM.

Turns out Click-to-Flash reset itself into a “default mode” of automatically downloading everything at 720p, if HTML5 option (mpeg4) was available. No clicks, no questions.
Nice of them to override settings that haven’t changed in 5 years because of an update to their plug-in/extension, without asking or notifying.
@Walter White – Cthulhu is not your typical evil villain who grows on garbage, war and mutations. If you need to be reminded of the basic concepts of Cthulhu mythos, I recommend starting with the mountains of madness.
Cthulhu exhibits an exemplar state of social tranquillity and eerie yet elegant architecture, through mental submission. Not chaos, famine and reckless destruction.
Man, the Mythos philopsophy and “message” ain’t something easy to get, needs a lot of research and scholarship and is very open to debate on its interpretation. Ok. We got that.
But if you got to the point of actually admiring Cthulhu and considering it’s “society” an example to follow… dude it’s not that you didn’t get the basic concepts, it’s that you are simply retarded.
