Jehovah’s Optipess Comix
Huge announcement time! A little while back I made a certain comic that unexpectedly got a lot of attention from my Jehovah’s Witness readers. I sure didn’t know I had so many! Capitalizing on this, I have now decided to reboot Optipess as solely a Jehovah’s Witness comic strip. The early sketches above is just a hint of more hilarious strips to come!
Optipess as you know it will not be updated any longer as I will be devoting all my time to this new direction. Thanks for reading for these past few years!
Right after midnight. Well played Sir.
It’s not april 1st here yet! I’m offended! Also, the first one has actually happened to me, and the second two are the ONLY way i’m conducting my ministry from now on….
For any Jehovah’s Witnesses reading this, check out http://www.JWFacts.com.
Of course approach it critically (we want critical thinking!), and research everything to make sure it is true. Lots of good information there.
If you want to talk about your religion to me, you can message me here:

(creating an account is free and very easy; it’s one of the most popular sites in the world, so it’s good)
I promise to be very respectful and keep an open mind.
Please also check out our Reddit forum: http://www.reddit.com/r/exjw & chat with us if you want. Obviously I can’t speak for everyone there, but most of us will be very respectful and kind to you with *anything* you want to talk about.
Thanks!
I hope you don’t mind this, Kristian. =) I came here because your comic was posted on our community, haha.
[Note to Kristian (or whoever moderates): Please delete my last comment and keep this one instead. I didn’t hotlink the Reddit URL in the last one. Thanks!]
That’s because it is spam. it’s anti JW propaganda. He’s trying to convince me to leave my religion.
Hi Hashbaz, I certainly meant no disrespect to you. Spam (as used here) is meant to mean when something is sent all over a website or the internet without changes, indiscriminately. I’ve typed this all myself for this one time. Spam isn’t something you don’t agree with. (I just wanted to point that out, I don’t want to be rude.)
Leaving a religion isn’t like changing a preference. It’s not just something I can convince you to do with a few words, so it wasn’t my intention just with that comment. It was more to open the door for your own personal research and critical thinking. Like I said, I have an open mind and I wouldn’t be attacking your religion or anything, like I said, I would be respectful.
I can totally understand how you are thinking right now, but PLEASE just research research research. There is no reason for you not to. Please always apply critical thinking abilities to the things you research. Research JWs, and religion in general. Google JWs and religion and cross check with apologetics (if there is one) and see what makes sense to you. Don’t take *anyone’s* word for it.
With those links I gave you, cross check, research the heck out of it, just don’t take it for granted (I don’t want you to; I’m *not* trying to trick you into anything here). See what JW literature has to say about the subject (if they even address the subject) and see what makes sense to you. When you research what the Watchtower has to say about a subject, check the source, examine, analyze, research. They have taken many quotes out of context, so check (research) the quotes if they quote something that is controversial. Do not take your life decisions lightly. I say this kindly, sincerely, and genuinely from my heart. Please consider!
Feel free to message me if you have any questions at all and I will provide as much facts as I can and let *you* decide what you believe is the honest truth. I’m not spurting propaganda. Propaganda doesn’t *urge* you to research the heck out of it to make sure it is the truth.
I just want to ask you if you have a rebuttal to this:
JWs believe that Jesus died on a stake, not a cross. But at John 20:25 “Doubting Thomas” specifically references nail*s* as in *two* nails on Jesus’ hands. If you look in JW publications, you always only ever see 1 nail penetrating both wrists of Jesus, and rightly so if he died on a stake. But if he died on a cross, wouldn’t you need two nails; one on each hand? If Jesus died on a stake, wouldn’t Thomas would have said nail, instead of nails? It’s perplexing.
Matthew 27:37 also supports the idea of a cross rather than a stake. It says the plaque of Jesus’ name and title was above his head, not his hands as you see in the publications. Again, if it were in fact a stake, shouldn’t it be above his hands? If it were a cross, shouldn’t it be above his head as Matthew says?
Like I said, please do not take my word for it. RESEARCH this. Ask those in your congregation knowledgeable about this stuff if you have to and see what makes sense. Like I said, I’m open minded and really do want to know if this is a rebuttal to this.
Consider this: Scientists are not afraid of “flat-earthers” or people who still say the earth is flat. They know that the evidence can speak for itself in this matter. In the same way, you shouldn’t be afraid of this information. The honest truth will always win out if you research research research. =)
Kind and respectful regards,
Mike
Mike,
Just one small provocation:
” But at John 20:25 “Doubting Thomas”specifically references nail*s* as in *two* nails on Jesus’ hands. ”
But during Roman crucifixions, the wrists of the victims were nailed to the cross, not their hands.
Can the scriptures really be interpreted literally?
Relying on the grammar in a translation of the Bible seems highly dubious, but I’ve had Jehova’s Witnesses do that, so perhaps Mike is just sticking to their way of interpreting the text?
i’m not going to argue. but i will say when i conduct my ministry i go out and find people who want to speak about it. i dont spread my agenda on other peoples websites. And i think its rude and useless for you to feel like you need to. It isn’t loving, its jumping on an opportunity.
Absolutely brilliant! Very well played indeed!
When are the Cthulhu’s Witnesses going to start making approving comments? No use just sitting around dreaming while other faiths are getting busy…
Good point. But I think they’re just sleeping… and waiting…
Regards of the day.
April 1st has already ended in Australia >_>
I WANT TO LIVE IN A WATCHTOWER NOW!
Mike, unfortunately the thread got a bit mangled due to your double post (and I deleted the original thread start). Anyway, I’m probably not going to remove your comment, but I should stress this is probably not the forum for expressing your views. I’m sure there are better places more suited for that discussion, especially as this comic is entirely silly and far removed from critique of either side, be it believers or non-believers.
It’s been my pleasure! ;)
Oh dear, u guys need to chill. It’s a comic. Hence a joke. Not a forum to debate views. Ppl are really going to think we’re way too intense and nuts if u keep that up. I appreciate the puns, and the thoughtfulness of another comic for us.
Also, Am I the only one thinking of reworking that awake pun to be preaching to zombies in ironic symbolization of the dead awakening to life/the resurrection?? I really can’t be the first to think of it.
And how dare you saying that to us Jehovah’s Witnesses! If your religion did to you also? are you happy?! your religion is worst than ours!
I’m not really sure who you are addressing, but either way you come across as pretty delusional. Ok, stay safe.
even if we are not perfect, at least JEHOVAH can give a chance to those who are bad people, but you bushers?! is there a move you did? NONE!
This comics is incredible. There are so much kindness and happiness! I hope you will continue creating such thing because you are doing really great.
Nice comics but It has no end, I want to read the whole story because I feel that there is something missed here.
