Keg Party
I almost gave this one the title “Booze Hound”, but I guess it would be too revealing. (Also, it was luckily not as time-consuming to produce as the previous strip. Be sure to click back to the monumental previous entry if you missed it!)
I just clicked on the “someone dies” tag and saw pretty mush every single comic.
Turner and … Hooch?
PS. We should go back to referring to alcohol as “hooch” because it sounds hilarious.
Third panel… not a nice thing to do to a dead person.
Was the pee at the third panel there to simulate booze?
If so, it’s a quite clever way to boost the punchline of the fourth panel and to give a new meaning and reading to the comic itself.
If not, it was a wonderful comic as it is. Very funny indeed.
Did they ever really have those casks of booze around their necks? Is that real?
@Babies!
Nope. Made up. It would probably kill the guy with glasses even faster.
There is a good article on cracked about this myth and it’s origins. Let me dig it up.
Ahh, here you go: http://www.cracked.com/article/105_the-6-most-frequently-quoted-bullshit-animal-facts/
It’s fact number #4
Made up by an English painter and Looney Tunes.
They tried to take him back to rehab and he said woof, woof, woof
@Yacine: Enjoy an 8 year late glare for getting that song stuck in my head. Well played.
That was an interesting turn of events! You never cease to amaze me, Kristian.
it should be noted, there has never ever in history been a practice of having rescue dogs carry alcohol. Alcohol actually lowers your body temperature, it just creates the illusion of heat. Both are negative effects for someone dying in the snow. Besides which, it makes so much more sense to follow a dog to the person and actually rescue them rather then just getting them a tiny barrel of alcohol…
Some guy just invented the whole thing and it somehow stuck
Ah yes, the St. Bernard is a great rescue dog, but the alcohol barrel was never a custom thing. Apparently someone just added it for an old painting, and eventually it stuck. Edit: As Otter already pointed out.
Also, making this comic reminded me of this 1949 newspaper cartoon.
@Boogerguy: Yeah, that was sort of the intention. Also, I wouldn’t really want to draw the peeing part too graphic anyway – I’m sure you’re thankful for that. :D
@Yacine: Sigh, haha. That cracked me up in a facepalm way. :D
Who let the dogs out… of rehab.

yup.
Ironically, peeing on him would actually be more helpful than booze… at least it’s warm.
