This is amazing.
where’s grissom when you need him? :)
You are a genius. That’s all.
New favorite! :D
lol – just noticed the second chalk outline being drawn around the first. Absolutely brilliant :-)
Curses. I thought the first crime scene was a real one, but then I read in the paper that it was a staged one. That’s a little bit less funny, perhaps because it would be less difficult for the killer, and thus would require the killer to be less crazy. Or … I don’t know. Still awfully clever though! :-)
Yeah, the newspaper harms it a bit, but it’s still pretty clever.
But, in the second panel, the detective is behind the tape again.
@HatredLord that’s because he passed the first one and in the second panel it’s behind the second one.
Hmmm, that seems to be true. Sorry.
Thanks for your feedback, everyone! I found the initial idea quite hilarious but it was a bit of a struggle to cram it into four frames in the best manner. Glad to see that it worked (for the most part, at least.)
I guess there’s a little bit of confusion (I’m probably the most confused), but psydei got the right idea – the barrier tape they’re going under in the first panel is the real crime scene, while the one in front of the detective in the second panel is the fake one.
@speearr: Thank ye. I bow humbly to thee.
@Jeanette: Awesome!
@DustbinK: Thanks! (Dustin of ATPR fame, I presume? I’m still quite the active lurker over there.)
Also: Congratulations to dagfooyo for writing comment no. 1000 on this site!
Ah. Until I read the comics, I assumed that the “CRime Scene Killer” was a guy who went to crime scenes and murdered people there. Carefully lining them up with the preexisting chalk marks. (So of course, the police put up warning tape around the original warning tape.)
I didn’t even realize that the fine print was intended to be read.
Oh man, this brought tears to my eyes (especially since I am at the office and I can’t laugh out loud)! :D
I just love this strip! Also, bonus points for the newspaper texts (“meta murderer” and “dusted the fingerprint duster for prints” crack me up… just like Sharkland Land).
You’ve got me hooked! :)
