Yeah, this has been bugging me as well. I guess that rule was more to get kids to go to bed not too late, and never sleep ever…

This always bugged me about that movie as well. It’s ALWAYS after midnight!

If that second clock is PM, then it would be after noon, not after midnight.
You’d be surprised to know how often noons come after midnights. Granted, there are mornings in between but as midnight is the start of every new day, noon always comes after.
I’m sure the original implication was “at night after midnight”, but I do have to agree that for something as important as, you know, not unleashing a giant horde of ugly monsters, it would probably be better to be specific…
Maybe the real reason and details were long forgotten.

I remember thinking that, too! Any time is “after midnight”.
Technically, when the sun rises it’s another day. So the “midnight” of daytime is noon.
