Tell Tale
So, this coming Friday is Dialogue Free Comic Day, an event created by the excellent DJ Bogtrotter, where the idea is to make webcartoonists challenge themselves to make a comic completely without dialogue. There’s a fantastic list of participating webcomics already, so I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with. Oh, and I’m definitely joining in as well! But actually, as the above wordless comic testifies I’m apparently starting early, making this entire week pantomime here at optipess.com.
Wait a minute, what is the alternate ending?
I believe this is the alternate ending. The original being where he hits the apple.
I was thinking of doing this anyway. I love comics without dialogue. My characters are so darn chatty though.
It’s hard to figure out what’s going on in the last panel. It’d be much easier to understand if you could see the dead body that the hero was crying over. It took me far too long to figure out that those were little feet indicating a body.
Ooh…more cartoonists doing Dialog Free Comics Day! I swear that I’m finding out about some great comics just from this alone!
Indeed. At first glance I thought it was something quite different… like he was receiving a rather strange “punishment”. Shortly thereafter I searched for a better explanation. =P
Really? I found it obvious immediately. Especially with the other guy eating the apple so happily.
Gee, the “real” William Tell shot the apple with a crossbow, not a bow. And the austrians look rather spanish to me with these helmets.
Just sayin’
